What?

What?

Honour our Troops is a Non-Profit Charity (Reg No 1135829), comprising a dedicated team of volunteers committed to giving knowledge, expertise, time and effort in realising our vision - Staging a National Concert in honour and support of our British Forces.

With?

With?

We are working on securing sponsorship and to collect donations through various fundraising events. This will aid us in setting up the final main concert and from that all proceeds will go to charities that benefit service personnel and their families in line with our objectives.

Why?

Why?

To assist serving and former serving members of the armed forces of the Crown and their dependents by providing relief from hardship, sickness, distress and bereavement, but not exclusively by making grants to other charities established for similar purposes.

When?

When?

We hope to organise and hold a concert, dedicated to members of the Armed Forces in the Summer of 2012 (dependant on all funds being raised). The concert is designed to be a huge 'Thank You' to all serving British military personnel in operational theatres throughout the world who continually risk their lives to keep ours safe.

Will?

Will?

All proceeds will be donated to the Navy, Army & Air Force Benevolent Funds. Never has there been a better time to provide a much needed morale boost in honour and remembrance of our fallen heroes and to show public support for our brave Military Forces.

Chris, who is a Public Services Tutor at Carshalton College, made his 2012 New Year’s Resolution to lose weight and raise money for a charity close to his heart, Honour Our Troops.
Chris feels it is time to shape up and his goal is to reach a weight of 14 stone. As extra motivation he is trying to get staff and students involved at Carshalton College to join him in losing weight and gather donations. His fitness regime will include starting each day with a swim, hill walking and avoiding alcohol, fatty foods and eating his 5 a day. His weight at the beginning was 17 stone 5 pounds.

Honour Our Troops 1st Charitable Donation goes to RHC PDF Print E-mail

Honour Our Troops were appalled, as were the general public, to hear of the theft from the Chelsea Pensioners In-club safe on Remembrance Sunday 2010. Due to their loss and to contribute towards the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s refurbishment programme, Honour Our Troops chose to make their very first charitable donation to this cause.

Our donation to RHC could never have been made of course, without the events that have taken place and kind donations made by our supporters, for which we are extremely grateful.
Here is copy of the letter of thanks from the Royal Hospital Chelsea along with a picture of three of their residents in their distinguishable scarlet coats – Denis, Sandy and Jim.

Thank you for your kind donation of £500.00 which will help to make a difference to the lives of our current and future Chelsea Pensioners.

Our duty today is to ensure that this institution which has been home to the Chelsea Pensioners for over three centuries, will continue into the next century and beyond. We have embarked on a major development programme to make the Royal Hospital fit for purpose.

Already through our supporters gifts we have managed to build and occupy The Margaret Thatcher Infirmary, which was built on time and to budget. The next step is to modernise the historic Long wards on which the majority of Chelsea Pensioners live in conditions that Wren would recognise if he were to return today.

Beyond that we are determined to establish an endowment to guarantee the long term survival of this important and much loved institution.

We are extremely grateful to you for your valued support. RHC Registered Charity no: 1076414
